Over 500 people gathered at the Chinggis Khaan Square to protest the statement of PM Ch.Saikhanbileg with posters reading: "Government for Solution that neglects Science shoud resign", "Getting Rid of Knowledge Industry in the name of Industry Development", "Shame on Cabinet and State Officials".
The demonstration was organized by the Science Workers Union under slogan "Save the Science".
Main trigger for this event today was the statement made by the PM Ch.Saikhanbileg on December 19th at the State Great Khural, concerning the further measures directed at the science sector.
Demonstrators cite the PM statement: "I am sure that there are not many who really understand the purpose of such many institutes" and see it as humilitation. They also see this statement is how far is our PM from science, while there are many distinguished and recognized at international level Mongolian scientists and researchers.
