Ministry of Health and Sport and "Gilead sciences" Inc signed a Memorandum of Understanding on providing drugs to treat the Hepatitis C infection named Sofosbuvir and Harvoni at discount price.
Those two drugs which has been internationally acknowledged will be distributed to Mongolia at discount price worth of USD 400 for one month treatment (Three month treatment is USD 1200.). These drugs are traded at USD 94.000 at the world market and only Egypt and Mongolia are buying it at the lowest price.
Demand for the drugs are three to four times higher than the company`s production plan and its highly demanded at international market.
There are 150.000 patients with Hepattits C infection in Mongolia. In addition, the Minister of Health and Sport stated that these drugs have 96-98 percent success result.
