Mongolia to participate at WorldSkills 2015 for its first time Competitors at Chinggis Khan International Airport

Mongolia became the 69th member of the World Skills International in 2014.

By becoming the official member of the World Skills International, Mongolia will have the opportunity to participate in the global competition to determine the level of professional workers, develop the vocational training to the world level according to the international standards, learn and introduce the latest progressive techniques and technology, train teachers and prepare professional workers to contribute to the economic development of the country.

The President of World Skills International with the 75 member countries Mr. Simon Bartley visited in Mongolia on July, 2014 and met with the Mongolian Prime Minister, Minister of Labor and the 1st and 2nd place winners, teachers and students of the Mongolian Skill Competition in nine different trades.

The 43th edition of World Skills will gather approximately 1200 competitors from over 50 countries and regions take on real challenges related to 49 skills.

For the first time in history, Mongolia will participate in the World Skill Competition this summer. The Ministry of Labor sent nine young and talented students with each experts to Brazil to compete against their international peers in the following skills:

  • Construction: Bricklaying, Tiling, Joinery
  • Services: Cooking, Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy
  • Technic: Electrical installation, welding, CNC Turning

The KOICA and GIZ provided each USD 100.000 support for the preparation of Mongolian team and supply with necessary equipment and facility and train the participants in South Korea.

Bricklaying

  • Competitor: J.Enhchimeg, student at Construction Polytechnic College
  • Expert: E.Ganbaatar, Construction engineer at MSC Property LLC 

Wall and Floor Tiling

  • Competitor: B.Mungunshagai, student at Skill Training Center of Darkhan-Uul aimag
  • Expert: Z.Oyuntsetseg, Interior teacher at Training Center of Darkhan-Uul aimag

Electrical installation

  • Competitor: P.Galbadrah, student at Mining and Energy Polytechnic College of Darkhan-Uul aimag
  • Expert: D.Badamsuren, electrical teacher at Mining Polytechnic College

Welding

  • Competitor: L.Gantsooj, student at Institute for Technical and Technology
  • Expert: S.Batsaihan, Laboratory Manager at 4th Power Plant

Joinery

  • Competitor: D.Narmandah, student at Institute for Technical and Technology
  • Expert: Ts.Tsogoo, Specialist at Forest Manufacturers and Woodworlers Association 

CNC Turning

  • Competitor: H.Lhagvaa, student at Construction Polytechnic College
  • Expert: G.Oyunbat, teacher at car production faculty of Mongolian University of Science and Technology

Hairdressing

  • Competitor: B.Undarmaa, student at Factory and Craft Polytechnic College
  • Expert: L.Odgerel, hairdressing teacher at Factory and Craft Polytechnic College

Cooking

  • Competitor: B.Munh-Erdene, student at Institute for Technical and Technology
  • Expert: L.Gantsolmon, food production teacher at Institute of Technical and Technology

Beauty Therapy

  • Competitor: B.Nomingoo, student at Factory and Craft Polytechnic College
  • Epert: O.Ichinnorov, beauty therapy teacher at Skill Training Center of Uvurhangai aimag

Opening ceremony of the World Skills to be started at 05 AM on Aug 12 and the skill competition to be started from Aug 13 at 08AM (By Mongolian timezone).
