Mongolian People`s Party (MPP) conference continued until 11pm yesterday and decided not to unite with Mongolian People`s Revolutionary Party (MPRP) for election in 2016 due to MPRP imposed new requirements that should not be agreed.
Working group jointly established by the MPP and MPRP have conducted research for a month and reached certain conditions.
- Nominate 51:25 candidates out of 76 mandates
- If win the parliamentary election, PM and Speaker of the Parliament will be appointed by one by one
- Nominate candidates for local election regarding the 2012 local election result
However, MPRP backed out above conditions and imposed following requirements.
- 20-30% of candidates nominating for local election should be members of MPRP
- If win the local election, the Governor and Head of City Council will be appointed by one by one
MPRP won many seats in 2012 parliamentary election with the help of their leader and former president N.Enhbayar. However MPRP members, taken seats at parliament, have not accepted and proven themselves for four years.
Compared to their human resource, 21 mandates for the State Great Hural is enough for MPRP. But MPRP leader`s intention to strengthen their power in locals have ruined the chance to unite with MPP and to win the election.
