MACROECONOMIC INDICATOR
According to report of the Bank of Mongolia, money supply (broad money or M2) reached to 10.5 trill.tog at the end of April 2016, increased by 411.5 bln.tog or 4.1 percent from the previous month and by 820.2 bln.tog or 8.5 percent compared to same period of the previous year.
At end of April 2016 currency issued in circulation reached 745.1 bln.tog increased by 86.5 bln.tog or 13.1 percent from the previous month and by 10.2 bln.tog or 1.4 percent compared to same period of the previous year.
GDP by production approach reached 4705.9 bln.tog at current prices and 2937.7 bln. tog at 2010 constant prices in the first quarter of 2016, went up 2.0 percent at current prices and 3.1 percent at constant prices compared with the same period of the previous year.
GDP by expenditure approach reached 4703.4 bln.tog at current prices, 3008.1 bln.tog at 2010 constant prices in the first quarter of 2016, went up 3.6 percent at current prices and 3.0 percent at constant prices compared with the same period of the previous year.
Loans outstanding amounted to 11.6 trill. tog. at end of April 2016, decreased by 198.3 bln.tog or 1.7 percent from previous month and decreased by 667.5 bln.tog or 5.4 percent compared to same period of the previous year.
At end of April 2016, the non-performing loans over the bank system reached 1064.6 bln. tog, increased by 96.8 bln.tog or 10.0 percent from the previous month, by 317.6 bln.tog or 42.5 percent compared to same period of the previous year. Rate of non-performing loans in total loans outstanding was 9.2 percent and increased by 1.0 point compared with previous months and by 3.1 points compared to same period of the previous year.
In the first 4 months of 2016, total equilibrated revenue and grants of the General Government Budget amounted to 1656.3 bln.tog and total expenditure and net lending amounted to 2319.9 bln.tog, representing a deficit of 663.6 bln.tog in the equilibrated balance.
In the first 4 months of 2016, Mongolia traded with 120 countries from all over the world and total external trade turnover reached 2210.1 mln.US dollars, of which 1347.4 mln.US dollars was made up by exports and 862.7 mln. US dollars by imports.
In April 2016 the national consumer price index increased by 1.4 percent compared to the previous month, by 3.1 percent from beginning of the year and by 2.1 percent compared to same period of the previous year.
An annual increase as 2.1 points was mainly due to increases of 1.3 points (61.1 percent) in education and 0.6 points (26.5 percent) in clothing, footwear and cloth.
ECONOMIC SECTOR INDICATOR
The industrial production index (seasonally adjusted) was 122.5 (2010=100) in April 2016 it has increased by 3.7 percent from the previous month, by 3.4 percent compared with the same period of the previous year and decreased by 5.9 percent from end of last year.
In the mining and quarrying sectors the mining products such as crude oil ,copper with concentrate, gold increased by 18.3-90.9 percent, the production of products such as alcoholic beverage, spirit, copper 99%, milk, soft drinks, pure water, kind of sausage, wooden door and windows, combed down, railway sleeper, plastic cards increased by 1.0 percent to 2.2 times more in the manufacturing sector.
But in the mining and quarrying sectors the mining products such as molybdenum with concentrate, zincum concentrate, coal, fluor spar concentrate, iron ore and broken, crashed stone decreased by 2.8-62.3 percent, the production of main products such ice cream, bakery products, bread, buuz and dumpling, articles of iron concrete, sawn wood, cement, vacuum windows, doors, metal fabrication decreased by 1.0-99.2 percent in the manufacturing sector.
In the first 4 months of 2016, the revenue from air transport reached 68.7 bln.tog and it has increased by 3.2 bln.tog or 4.9 percent compared to same period of the previous year.
