In the first 5 months of 2016, 32064 mothers delivered 32216 children. It has decreased by 3.7 percent and 3.8 percent compared to the previous year. The infant mortality counted 698, it has increased by 161 children, under-five mortality counted 814 it has increased by 196 children compared to previous year.
The number of unemployed reached 33.7 thousand at the end of May 2016, has shown a increase of 1.7 thous.persons compared to the 2015 and by 0.3 thous.persons compared to the April, 2016.
The revenue of Social Insurance Fund amounted to 690.4 bln. tog. Total of 59.9 bln.tog granted to 199.1 thous.persons for pensions and welfare benefits. A number of persons received pensions and welfare allowances increased by 3.7 percent and an amount of pensions and allowances decreased by 0.6 percent compared to the previous year

In May 2016, according to the report of the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, maximum precipitation was registered in 72.6 mm in Bayandelger soum of Sukhbaatar aimag. Choibalsan soum of Dornod aimag had the highest air temperature 34.9°C, while Bayanzurkh district of Ulaanbaatar city had the lowest air temperature -19.0°C in May 2016.
As measured by over 10 air quality monitoring stations, the average daily concentration of nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide exceeded by 1-31 times, dust content with less than 2.5 micron exceeded 1-6 times and dust content with less than 10 micron have exceeded the maximum acceptable level by 9-22 times in the atmosphere of Ulaanbaatar.
At national level, 12481 crimes were registered in the first 5 months of 2016, reflecting a decrease of 249 crime compared to the previous year. This decrease was mainly due to decreases of economic crimes 275, crimes against the rules of safety of traffic and use of motor vehicles 190, crime against public security 65 compared to 2015.
