Newly formed parliament is holding it's first plenary session today.
Mongolian People's Party (MPP) won majority of seats in parliament election with 65 seats out of 76. Party secretary S.Byambatsogt announced that the party is nominating party leader Miyegombo Enkhbold as chairman of parliament, as decided by party steering committee.
M.Enkhbold became the new chairman of parliament with support of 66 MPs (86.8%) and received the State Great Khural (Parliament) seal.
Born in July 19, 1964 in Ulaanbaatar, M. Enkhbold graduated 1st school in 1982 and National University of Mongolia (NUM) in 1987 majoring in economics. He has master's degree in economics.
M.Enkhbold served as the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar between 1999-2005, member of parliament in 2005-2008, 2008-2012; and again in 2016. He also worked as the chairman of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) between 2005-2007, and as Prime minister between 2006-2008 and deputy speaker in 2012.
