Today the Government of Mongolia rewarded athletes won medals from the 2016 Olympics and Paralympics with cash prize.
Prime Minister J.Erdenebat and J.Batsuuri, Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sport handed over the cash prizes to D.Sumiya, 2016 Olympics silver medalist in judo, D.Otgondalai, 2016 Olympics bronze medalist in boxing, B.Uugankhuu, 2016 Paralympics bronze medalist in judo, E.Sodnompiljee, 2016 Paralympics bronze medalist in powerlifting and coaches B.Narantuya, D.Batsuren and Sh.Enkhsaikhan.
"Congratulations to the athletes who won medals from 2016 Olympics and raised the reputation of the country. Sport is the major sector to promote Mongolia to the world. I am grateful for athletes trying their best for that reason", said Prime Minister J.Erdenebat.
The Government of Mongolia has announced to pay athletes MNT 60 million (US$ 25,125 according to the today`s exchange rate) for a silver medal, MNT 30 million (US$ 12,562) for bronze and give its coaches half of the amount awarded to the medalists.
