The Chairman of the State Great Khural, Mr M.Enkhbold has arrived in the Persian Gulf to pay official visits to the Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The visit began with a meeting with the President of the UAE Federal National Council, Dr Amal Abdullah Juma Al Qubaisi.
The latter expressed her satisfaction with the growing ties between the legislatures of our countries. “Our relations are based on mutual trust. Although, the UAE have diplomatic ties with many other countries, relationship with Mongolia has been thriving at an upgraded level of equality”, she noted.
While mentioning the Mongolia-UAE diplomatic relations are turning 20 this year, the Speaker of Mongolian Parliament, Mr Enkhbold noted the two sides have been gaining experiences and sharing practices in investment and economic spheres, as well as in politics. He also highlighted the opening of the Mongolian Embassy in Dubai in 2016 was the first step to build an active and regular mechanism of bilateral ties.
The Speaker requested Ms Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi to promote bilateral ties at the governmental level.
He put forward a request for an easy-term loan with low interest for the Mongolian government for overcoming the current economic constraints. Adding that the Mongolian Government had already submitted an official request on this matter, Speaker M.Enkhbold said Mongolia is interested in co-implementing major projects in Mongolia with the funding of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and other potential financial sources.
Ms Abdullah Al Qubaisi said that the financial assistance can be rendered in the margin of the economic cooperation, pursuant to international legal acts and laws.
She also touched upon the matter of current political situations in the region, those in Iran, Yemen and Syria, in particular. She extended gratitude to Mongolia for sharing UAE’s position on the fight against terrorism, and said “it is not enough to unite firearms to win the fight. Terminating the ideology and suppress terrorism financing are the most crucial part. The United Arab Emirates is the striking example of how a country can thrive in the absence of mass killings”.
