Air quality index near Bayanhoshuu and Tolgoit reaches hazardous levels

As of today at 9AM (Jan 2nd), air pollution reaches hazardous levels areas near Bayanhoshuu and Tolgoit. 

Levels of PM2.5 particulates was 1269 micrograms per cubic meter areas near Bayanhoshuu and 902 micrograms per cubic meter areas near Tolgoit, according to the agaar.mn, an air quality monitoring webstie.

Levels of PM2.5 particulates, which are the most hazardous to health, in heavily polluted areas of Ulaanbaatar city exceeds 50 times above the recommended levels, as compared with the World Health Organization safe level of 25. 

Moreover, very unhealthy air quality hits areas near 100 ail where levels of PM2.5 particulates reaches 405 micrograms per cubic meter

CAUTIONARY STATEMENT

Everyone should avoid all physical activity outdoors; people with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children should remain indoors and keep activity levels low. 

Households should close the window during the most polluted periods (from 6AM to 10AM and5PM to 9PM).

Moreover, residents should wear PM2.5 pollution mask regularly when go outside. Also, use of air conditioning is effective way to improve indoor air quality.
