Foreign exchange reserves increase

Volume of official foreign exchange reserves of Bank of Mongolia amounted to USD 1.303 billion as of December 31, 2016 . The report of the Central Bank says that the foreign exchange reserve grew by 25.4 percent compared to November 30 .

The Central Bank explains that the increased volume of official foreign exchange reserve caused by an increase in the country's gold reserves. This year, the Bank of Mongolia is purchasing a total of 18.3 tons of gold to enlarge the gold reserves it holds.
