Air quality index near MNB reaches hazardous levels

As of today at 9 am (22nd Feb), areas nearby Mongolian national broadcasting have the highest air quality index of 517. 

According to the agaar.mn, an air quality monitoring webstie, levels of PM2.5 particulates reaches;

  • 259 micrograms per cubic meter area nearby Mongolian National Public Television,
  • 216 micrograms per cubic meter in Bayankhoshuu,
  • 204 micrograms per cubic meter in Tolgoit

Levels of PM2.5 particulates, which are the most hazardous to health, in heavily polluted areas of Ulaanbaatar city exceeds 10 times above the recommended levels, as compared with the World Health Organization safe level of 25.
