The 7th edition of Mongolia Mining international exhibition, Mongolia’s biggest and most important mining event, opened at Buyant Ukhaa Sports Palace today, April 5.
Present at the opening ceremony to give remarks were representatives of the expo’s co-organizers and sponsors - B.Lkhagvajav, President of Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ts.Tumentsogt, CEO of Erdenes Mongol Corporation, D.Boldsukh, Head of Sales at Transwest Mongolia LLC, Steve Potter, Executive Director of Wagner Asia Equipment LLC and T.Battulga, the Chairman of Organizing Committee.
"We've been observing definite growth in mining sector in recent years, and I think Mongolia Mining expo is a major channel through which mining business in Mongolia is promoted", said T.Battulga, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee.
Around 130 participants made of companies operating in Mongolia and international mining suppliers from 16 countries including Australia, the US, Germany, the Russian Federation, Japan, the People’s Republic of China, Belarus, Canada, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Korea, India, the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Sweden are exhibiting their products and mining equipment at the annual expo this year.
Notably, Mongolia Mining offers more than just exposition opportunities, but more events like a mining seminar which comprises several sessions focusing on government policy, Mongolian mining companies, heavy-duty machinery and equipment suppliers, Austrade Ulaanbaatar and Mongolia Mining 2017 exhibitor companies, a field trip to Ukhaa Khudag coal mining site located in 560 km distance from Ulaanbaatar and a networking meeting.
According to the organizers, the many reasons to attend the exposition include meeting with potential suppliers and buyers of the mining sector, exploring opportunities of cooperation and partnership between local and international mining sector companies, getting up-to-date understanding and knowledge of the world cutting-edge technologies, socializing with industry professionals and prospective investment deals in various projects.
The 2017 Mongolia Mining expo will continue until April 7, Friday, featuring traditional mining and emerging oil industries of Mongolia with exhibitors and visitors representing the industry's major companies and the largest number of professionals.
Last year, the expo was participated by 128 exhibitors and attracted 4720 visitors. In 2016, Mongolia's mining sector constituted 86.3 percent of export, 71 percent of industrial output and 18 percent of GDP.
