Only smart cards set to use for payment for a bus ride and stopped cash payments from Apr 1, 2017, which resulted up to 25 percent increase in daily revenue.
The new payment system was introduced to public transport in more than a year ago. Due to many cases of tearing banknotes in half occurred, the decision to stop cash payment was made, reports officials.
We are looking for ways to allow all kinds of cards for a bus ride in relation to the decision. Also, we are studying the possibility to introduce single pass, states City Mayor S.Batbold.
Meanwhile, citizens complain lack of smart card purchase spots. Currently, there are over 520 smart card purchase and recharge spots are available and the number of spots will be increased in further.
