International Workers' Day, also known as Labour Day in some countries, is a celebration of labourers and the working classes that is promoted by the international labour movement, socialists, communists or anarchists and occurs every year on May Day (1 May).

Confederation of Mongolian Trade Union is organizing peaceful demonstrations at the capital city Ulaanbaatar and centers of 21 aimags. The demonstrations are being carried out in accordance with law, highlights head of Confederation of Mongolian Trade Union H.Amgalanbaatar.

He added that the Government violated four provisions included in the tripartite agreement which caused to organize today`s demonstration. Moreover, authorities approved state budget without asking our opinion. Thus, we are demanding the Government to fulfill the agreement that was established three months ago.

The peaceful demonstration commenced at 12 p.m. Ministry of Development and Social Welfare N.Nomtoibayar met with protestors and received their request.
