On the request of Prime Minister of Mongolia, Mongolia Economic Forum 2017 has postponed to 6, 7 July.
Prime Minister J.Erdenebat states: "Board of International Monetary Fund will finalize Mongolia`s request on Extended Fund Facility Program on Apr 24th. Thus, topics should be discussed at the forum and policies should be followed by the country will become clear at that time. Moreover, it is significant to discuss the economy without politicizing. Therefore, the forum is better to be organized following the presidential election 2017".
The forum aims to bring together policy makers, the private sector, and civil society representatives to discuss economic issues. Investment has declined in both financial and capital markets since 2012. The external cause is considered as drop in mining and mineral raw materials supply to the world market. Lack of public policy is considered as the internal cause. Thus at the beginning of the forum, participants are set to discuss how to build a stable investment and ways to boost it.
Over 1,500 participants attend the forum each year. Forum guests include the President of Mongolia, Prime Minister of Mongolia, Speaker of Parliament, Members of Parliament, Cabinet Ministers, representatives of the foreign company, local businessmen, public stakeholders, local and international media, and representatives of international organizations.
This year, Mongolia Economic Forum 2017 will be held under the motto "Think sustainable, Act responsibly".
