On May 27, three presidential candidates to run in the President election 2017 received their candidacy certificates.
According to the Law on Elections, three political parties seated in Parliament are eligible to nominate a candidate for the Presidential Election 2017; the Mongolian People's Party (MPP), the Democratic Party (DP) and the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP).
M.ENKHBOLD, A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE OF MPP
M.Enkhbold was officially announced as the presidential candidate of MP, which holds 65 out of 76 seats in Parliament.
"MPP trusted and nominated me for Presidential election 2017. Thus, I am obliged to win the election. This election must solve and stop all problems in our country. People of Mongolia entrusted MPP 10 months ago. Now I am running for Presidential election to fulfill a major order of people. I am confident in winning the election fairly and legally", he said.
KH.BATTULGA, A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE OF DP
DP, which holds 10 seats in Parliament nominated Kh.Battulga as the candidate of Presidential election 2017.
"Only three months left for choosing decision whether Mongolia works for 30 thousand people or three million people. It will be an unequal competition. They hold power, money, and foreigners. However, people of Mongolia are standing on our side. Mongol will win the election", stated Kh.Battulga.
N.GANBAATAR, A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE OF MPRP
A presidential candidate to represent the MPRP, which holds only one out of 76 seats in Parliament, was the center of attention. The first candidate of Mongolian People`s Revolutionary Party N.Enkhbayar was not allowed to run in the parliamentary elections due to some missing statements and other reasons. Following, the party nominated S.Ganbaatar as MPRP’s candidate for the Presidential election.
"I crossed a long and far distance to reach here. During that time, I felt a lot of insults and slander. However, truth always wins. We have a plan and draft constitution to save our country. Today Mongolians have to make a different choice and help to win who has a better plan. I am striving for a better life of all Mongolians, not for enriching 30 families. People of Mongolia will win and Mongolia will rise, says S.Ganbaatar.
Moreover, he added that "I will strengthen representatives of ordinary working people, federation, and organizations representing businesses".
