Health Development Center releases a publication named "Health indicator-2016" today. The publication is available both in English and Mongolian and handed over to more than 300 users including the governmental agencies, international organizations, NGOs and academic institutions for free.
According to the publication;
- The population of Mongolia reached 3 million 119.9 thousand at the end of 2016. Of which, 68.9 percent of whom were residing in the urban area and remaining 31.1 percent of them were living in rural areas.
- An average life expectancy reached 69.57 in 2016 while the average life expectancy of women are 75.10 and men are 65.58 respectively.
- In 2016, a total of 77,803 mothers gave birth in Mongolia, which decreased by 3.3 percent (2631) compared to 2015. A total of 78,194 healthy children were born nationwide and of which, 1681 of them were twins, 27 of them were three twins.
- The general coefficient of the death rate was 7.9 in 1990 and it has decreased to 5.2 in 2016.
- Mongolia has one hospital bed per 134 people and one doctor per 309 people in 2016.
