An initiative of Ministry of Energy with the support of Asian Development Bank, a technical assistance project called "Strategy for Northeast Asia Power System Interconnection" has started to be implemented.
The purpose of the project is to conduct a comprehensive technical study on interconnecting renewable energy resources of Mongolia to regional electricity grid network. The study is being conducted by the European leading energy company, Electricite de France.
Within the framework of the 25-month project, a total of six meetings will be held and will be attended by delegations from China, Russia, Japan and South Korea.
The meetings will be significant for increasing the use of clean energy in Northeast Asian power system, improving efficiency and building understanding among stakeholders.
Moreover, the project will bring significant results in identifying the map of the regional electricity grid network which is based on the vast resource of Mongolia's renewable energy.
