Embassy of Italy in Ulaanbaatar announced that it will start issuing Italian and Schengen visas starting from June 26, Monday.
Regarding this matter, Ambassador of Italy to Mongolia Andrea De Felip briefed journalists on June 22, Thursday.
According to the Ambassador, the application fees and validity periods for the Italian and Schengen visas will differ depending on the purpose of visit, and the visas will be issued within three working days after submission of application.
“This is a major step towards intensification of bilateral people-to-people and business-to-business relations”, Ambassador Andrea De Felipe said.
Prior to the new regime, Mongolian nationals seeking an Italian visa had to apply at the Embassy of Italy in Beijing, and those travelling to Italy on official businesses submitted their documents at the Embassy of Germany in Ulaanbaatar.
Italy opened its Embassy in Ulaanbaatar over a year ago. Mongolia and Italy established diplomatic relations on June 29, 1970.
