A compulsory course titled ‘Basics of Disaster protection management’ has been added to the syllabus of Mongolian universities and higher education institutes.
Following a proposal from the National Emergency Management Agency, the Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports has issued an ordinance to teach disaster protection management as a compulsory subject to students starting from the academic year of 2017-2018.
The National Emergency Management Agency formulated the complex course on disaster protection knowledge in cooperation with UNDP.
The NEMA proposal was made in the frameworks of Law of Mongolia on Disaster Protection, government policy on disaster protection and National program on Disaster risk reduction with public participation. Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/
