4th national U.S. alumni conference held

On November 18, the U.S. Embassy and Mongolian Association of State Alumni (MASA) successfully organized the fourth national alumni conference in celebration of MASA’s 10th Anniversary and the 30th Anniversary of U.S.-Mongolian relations.

Opening the conference, Mr Manny Micaller, Chargé d’Affaires, complimented the outgoing MASA board’s dedication to fostering a volunteerism-minded membership. He related the importance of volunteerism in American society and described some of the volunteering experiences of MASA members during their time in the U.S., as well as recent MASA endeavors.

Former MASA board member Ms. Oyungerel and member of parliaments Mr. Munkh-Orgil delivered a keynote address highlighting volunteerism. At the conference, over 120 alumni of U.S. government scholarship programs and Mongolian graduates of U.S. universities heard MASA’s report on their past ten years activities.  The day concluded with the introduction of MASA’s new board members who will service year of 2017-2019.
