The Financial Regulatory Commission has released its financial industry report on the third quarter of 2017, excluding data from the banking sector.
Insurance industry capital increased by 21.4 percent and totaled 251.7 billion MNT in the third quarter, 80 percent of which came from general insurance companies.
Loans at savings and credit cooperatives reached 107.74 billion MNT in Q3'17, with 92.2 percent being regular loans, 3.6 percent past-due, and 4.2 percent non-performing. The number of non-performing loans increased by six percent compared to 2016, and the number of past-due loans decreased by 12 percent.
The number of savings and credit cooperatives grew by 20 percent to total 53,700 at the end of the quarter.
