Minister of Energy Ts. Davaasuren received World Bank (WB) Country Manager James Anderson on December 12. WB has successfully implemented its Energy Sector Project in Mongolia and a second project, approved in June, is going to begin soon.
The project will focus on reducing corporate energy waste, strengthening the economic capacity of the energy sector, ensuring safe operations, and the production of environmentally-friendly energy resources.
Minister Ts. Davaasuren noted that actions will be taken to increase the production of solar, wind, and hydroelectric power, and that the introduction of new electricity meters will help to apply discounts for night-time electricity use nationwide.
