Member of the Parliament B.Narankhuu was elected from Dundgovi Aimag for the third time.
On December 22nd, three lawyers appealed to the Constitutional court to recall him.
The Constitution states that "A member of the State Ih Hural shall be an envoy of the people and shall represent and uphold the interests of all the citizens and the State."
However, MP B.Narankhuu's plenary session attendance is quite low, and he does not participate in the standing committee meetings regularly. Lawyers B.Gunbileg, D.Miyegombo, and Ch.Jadamba noted that "It is doubtful that B.Narankhuu will be able to accomplish his duties as an MP. The fact that he's not practicing his full rights and duties as an MP can be an adequate reason to recall him."
According to the Clause 6.6.5 of the Constitution, the Parliament shall accept it if the Constitution Court concludes recalling an MP.
Moreover, MP Narankhuu attracted public attention last month. After attending the Security and Foreign Policy standing committee sitting to discuss B.Khurts's appointment as an ambassador to South Korea, he answered the journalists' question about his attention to the appointment by saying "B.Khurts is my friend." and became a target of criticism.
