The Bank of Mongolia (BoM) reported that Mongolia's banks conducted 275 million USD in foreign currency trades conducted online in 2017, as of December 25. One of the primary directions of 2017's state monetary policy has been improving the infrastructure of the domestic currency market. The Bank of Mongolia introduced the Interbank Foreign Exchange Online Platform on April 10.
The BoM selects two commercial banks which meet the requirements of the Interbank Foreign Exchange Online Platform, as the engagement of key traders strengthens the platform’s activity and flexibility.
Khan Bank and Golomt Bank are currently the platform's key dealers.
