Bloomberg reported on December 29, 2017, that the top 20 indices on the Mongolian Stock Exchange (MSE) increased by 63 percent in 2017, putting the MSE in third place for Bloomberg’s rating of the best and worst performing equity indices.
The Ukrainian Equities Index was the top performer in 2017 at 80 percent growth. Kazakhstan’s stock exchange followed with 64 percent growth.
The MSE conducted 859.2 billion MNT in trading in 2017, a record for its 26 years of trading and a 57.2 percent increase over its previous record set in 2015.
Stock market value grew by 67.4 percent in 2017 to total 2.4 trillion MNT, the market's highest performance in five years.
