An energy sector meeting was held, led by Vice Minister T. Gantulga. The vice minister noted that all of the nation's thermal power stations are operating smoothly.
He assigned relevant government agencies to maintain the nation's three to four-day gasoline reserves. Power systems in the capital's central areas operated at up to 1,025 MW last week, the highest level this winter.
During the meeting, Executive Director of the National Dispatching Center D. Baldorj said that levels might fall in the future. The government issued a new resolution on the opening of thermal power stations and distribution systems in Arkhangai, Bayankhongor, Gobi-Altai, Gobisumber, Dundgobi, Zavkhan, Uvurkhangai, Khentii, and Tuv provinces in 2015.
The work will be financed by a loan from Export-Import Bank of Korea. Technical and economic feasibility studies are being carried out by Korea District Heating Engineering Company (KDHEC) and will be finished by June 2018.
Specialists from KDHEC will visit sites in 10 provinces from January 10 to 25, and three working groups have been appointed by the vice minister to assist the KDHEC specialists.
