30th anniversary of U.S.-Mongolia diplomatic relations concludes

The U.S Embassy in Ulaanbaatar organized a reception for the conclusion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the U.S.

The two sides commemorated the occasion throughout 2017. Minister of Foreign Affairs D. Tsogtbaatar attended the reception and noted, "Since the beginning, the U.S. has been supporting our path that is democratic, free, and prioritizes the free market and human rights."

Key actions have been taken during the anniversary, such as the re-establishment of a Mongolia group in the U.S. Congress, Mongolia's eligibility for the signing of a second compact agreement with the Millennium Development Corporation, and the organization of critical bilateral meetings in Ulaanbaatar and Washington, D.C. Mongolia is now also included in the list of countries whose citizens are eligible for H-2A and H-2B visas.

The two countries held their 12th annual bilateral consultations last month to review relations and to define key bilateral priorities for the future.
