Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry holds official meetings at PDAC

During his visit to Toronto for the PDAC International Convention, Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry D. Sumiyabazar met with Matthew Canavan, a Member of Senate and Minister of Resources and Northern Australia, and Dave Andrews, Exploration Director for Rio Tinto LLC. Minister D. Sumiyabazar also attended a meeting with Frank Kelly, the Director of Extractive Industries at Export Development Canada, and other agency representatives.

During the meeting, the parties discussed possible cooperation on projects and programs that are being implemented in Mongolia as part of the government's policy to develop the nation's geology and mining sectors.

In a meeting with Kim Rudd, Parliamentary Secretary to Canada's Minister of Natural Resources, the minister spoke about amendments to the Mining Law of Mongolia, the government's strategy to develop the mining sector, and initiatives that need to be realized in the mining sector to combat climate change.
