During a press conference held yesterday, Minister of Environment and Tourism N. Tserenbat officially announced the launch of the Open Door campaign, which will be held from March 14-21 across the country.
The Open Door campaign will focus on educating the public about environmental protection, and will receive and respond to new ideas and grievances from the public. An Open Door Day will be held in Ulaanbaatar at the main hall of the National Agency for Standardization and Metrology.
Regarding Mongolia's participation in ITB Berlin 2018, Minister N. Tserenbat stated, “For the past 14 years, Mongolia has been actively participating in this exhibition. Our plan is to host one million tourists and generate one billion USD in income.
We do have shortcomings, but by resolving them, we will definitely be able to receive this number of tourists. We've established a working group whose primary role will be to develop a tourism itinerary, which we are planning to submit to the cabinet next month. It is important to have an approved itinerary at the state level. If any incidents happen during travel for an unapproved itinerary, all expenses and accountability will be the responsibility of the tour organizers or the tourists."
