According to the Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s Office, of the 412.4 billion MNT earmarked in the 2018 budget for the implementation of city development projects, 51.4 billion MNT will be spent on road repair and construction.
A total of 34 road projects will be implemented around the city. The major projects include the expansion and reconstruction of Ikh and Baga Toirog and new roads built along the Selbe River from the Khailaast intersection to Dari Ekh, for which 6.3 billion MNT has been budgeted.
The city also plans to start the construction of elevated lanes at the Eastern Intersection this year. The construction of bicycle lanes will also be part of 2018's road projects, and will be laid from the Bankhar statue in Bayanzurkh District to Hermes Center.
