Prime Minister U. Khurelsukh met with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde while attending the Boao Forum for Asia. During their meeting, the Prime Minister noted that as a result of Mongolia's enrollment in the IMF's extended fund facility (EFF) program, the nation's economy has been growing rapidly, with improved performance in investment and fiscal balance indicators. He thanked the IMF for providing assistance in times of economic hardship.
The Prime Minister added, “The Government of Mongolia has been aiming to strengthen budget discipline, reduce budget deficit by decreasing expenses, and to diversify the economy.”
