Mongolian Prime Minister Khurelsukh Ukhnaa’s visit to China is continuing. Yesterday, He delivered speech at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2018 theme of which is “An Open and Innovative Asia for a World of a Greater Prosperity.
“Mongolia highly values the PRC’s policy on sharing the benefits of its development with its neighbouring countries and developing together. I hope this policy and directive will give an important push for the expansion of our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and enrichment of new contents,” Mr. Khurelsukh highlighted.
He added, “There are 32 projects to be implemented in the frames of establishing Mongolia-Russia-China economic corridor. The three sides have been holding talks on implementing priority projects on reforming railway, building highway and power grid network in the near future.”
Mongolian Premier expressed that Mongolia is for deepening cooperation with other countries on innovation. “I hope that the Intergovernmental Agreement on Industrial Capacity and Investment Cooperation signed during this visit will forward the usage of innovation and introduce progressive technology to industries,” he noted.
“The mechanisms, such as APEC and East Asian Summit, as well as the agendas of Trans-Pacific Partnership and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific cover major economies of the region and there is a limited possibility for developing countries to be involved.” Mr Khurelsukh suggested.
Furthermore, he expressed that Mongolia will continue its policy on developing mutually beneficial economic cooperation and actively involving in political and economic integration of the region, and has an interest in cooperating with its neighboring and regional countries in greater extent.
One day prior to the Boao Forum, Mr Khurelsukh met with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Li Zhanshu and exchanged views on Mongolia-China cooperation. During the meeting, Mr Khurelsukh expressed that Mongolia has an interest in deepening cooperation between legislative bodies of the two countries. In response, Mr Li expressed his hope that “This visit will show a significant push for deepening the development of relations and cooperation of the two countries.” He also expressed that the visit will play an important role in strengthening political trust and increasing mutual trust between Mongolia and PRC.
The sides also expressed that they will cooperate closely on enriching the content of economic cooperation in the frames of implementing Mongolia’s Development Road Program in coherence with the Chinese Belt & Road initiative and for the objective of increasing trade turnover between the two countries to USD 10 billion by 2020.
