On Tuesday, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Justice discussed the President of Mongolia’s proposal of candidates for the head and deputy head of the Independent Authority Against Corruption. The majority of the committee members disapproved the proposal on the ground that it has violated several laws.
Primarily, the proposal was submitted on Friday to the Parliament. On Monday, the Mongolian People’s Party group in Parliament discussed the proposal at its closed meeting and reached a position not to support the candidates proposed by the President. The MPP group considers that the appointment term of the present heads have not been expired.
