On June 12, the National Statistical Office reported that the state's consolidated revenue saw a surplus of 45.4 billion MNT in May.

A tax revenue hike was the key driver for the state's budget surplus. Tax income reached 2.9 trillion MNT, a growth of 28.1 percent (647.2 billion MNT) compared to the same period in 2017. Tax income accounted for 80.6 percent of the state's revenue.

In May 2017, the state's consolidated budget deficit was 412.5 billion MNT.
