Twenty-five Members of Parliament have signed a petition calling for an irregular session of Parliament and submitted it to Speaker of Parliament M. Enkhbold on July 10.
According to the law on the State Great Khural, if 25 members, or one-third of Parliament, propose the convening of an irregular session, the Speaker of Parliament is obliged to provide a response within 14 days. Member of Parliament L. Oyun-Erdene stated, “The Members of Parliament who signed the request deemed it necessary that Parliament discuss the infamous '60 billion MNT' case and Erdenet mine’s 51 percent stake being put up as collateral for a loan from Standard Bank.”
