International humanitarian organizations, including World Vision, ADRA, Mercy Corps Mongolia, and Mongolian Red Cross Society, have begun providing assistance to those affected by flooding in Bayan-Ulgii Province. More than 530 households and 2,500 people have been affected by flooding in Ulgii soum.
While the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is working to deliver cleaning and hygiene kits to 250 households, UNICEF has been developing guidelines on critical long-term action regarding drinking water and hygiene after flooding. The UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Ulaanbaatar informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that UN organizations are working on-site to take necessary measures for recovery.
