Magnitude 3.1 earthquake in Govi-Altai

Magnitude 3.1 earthquake was occurred at 07:13 in 10 km west from Yesunbulag soum, Govi-Altai province. The center of the earthquake was in Khantaishir valley.
Citizens of Yesunbulag soum felt the earthquake.

The Astronomy and Geo-Physics Research Center informed that western area of Mongolia is considered as active zone of earthquake due to mountainous area. Earthquake tends to be active during ground melting and freezing period.

Active stations of the Astronomy and Geo-Physics Research Center are under operation in 10 provinces with earthquake active zone.
