MNT 64 billion budgeted for laboratories to customs

MNT 64 billion budgeted for laboratories to customs

Mongolia has 46 ports and 18 custom branches, but only 3 branches in Bayal-Ulgii, Selenge, Dornod and Dornogovi provinces have laboratories.

In order to improve operations of other custom branches, providing laboratories according to “Regional project of improving border operations” of Asian Development Bank will be implemented this year.

Finance of MNT 64 billion was budgeted to Mongolian Customs General Administration from the State this year with purpose of providing laboratories and updating operations.  

Senior inspector of Mongolian Customs General Administration Ch.Tamir said “One-stop service will be established at Sukhbaatar port. Altanbulag port will be updated, and customer branches will have laboratories. Laboratories will help detecting mining shipments, meat and meat products, and drugs quickly and accurately”. 

Altanbulag port updates include:

-           Expand passenger and luggage checkpoint

-           Custom laboratory

-           Mixed substance warehouse

-           Detector dog house

-           Warehouse

-           Water and heating transferring center

-           Power substation

-           X-ray control building

-           Freight and passenger monitoring shed

-           Sanitation building

Furthermore, additional parking spaces will be built in order to save passengers’ time. It will include 1.7 km road, 7000 sq.m parking space and 29900 sq.m space inside port.
