Seminar on safety management at Waste water treatment plant will be held tomorrow

On Friday, 29th November, at 9:00, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Ulaanbaatar Water Supply and Sewage Authority (USUG) will organize a seminar to introduce Japan’s experiences on safety management at wastewater treatment plant including related laws, its enforcement and structural frameworks. The seminar will particularly aims at enhancing the capacity for safety engineers in Central Waste Water Treatment Plant, USUG through sharing initiatives and experiences of Tokyo Sewerage Bureau in risk assessment and accident prevention measures. On the day, Ms. Eriko Tamura (Chief Representative of JICA Mongolia Office), Mr.Kinji Yamada (Sewerage Professional Engineer), Mr.Odkhuu (Head of Engineering Policy Department of USUG) and other related officials and engineers from both side will participate.

In the past years, the USUG and JICA have been expanding close relationship in the water sector especially in the line of water distribution, transmission and supply through series of project implementation. On this occasion, with the cooperation request from USUG to improve its safety engineer’s knowledge on safety management of the wastewater treatment plant, JICA is facilitating this seminar in collaboration with Bureau of sewerage Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The seminar is expected to serve as a proper platform for safety engineers of knowledge building skill sharing in risk assessment and accident prevention measures.
