Sukhbaatar district civil primary court sentenced M.Enkhsaikhan, former Prime Minister of Mongolia, accused of causing damage of MNT 55 million to the Ministry of Energy. In other words, he was accused of purchasing SUV by MNT 135 million which actual price is MNT 75 million.
According to articles 22.1.1 and 22.1.2 of criminal law, M.Enkhsaikhan was sentenced for 4 and half year, and banned for appointment of civil servant for 4 years. Imprisonment will be served in open prison according to decision of Primary courts of Bayanzurkh, Sukhbaatar and Chingeltei districts.
Previously, prosecutors accused M.Enkhsaikhan of political sabotage and the abuse of power over an ‘unsigned’ agreement regarding the Tavan Tolgoi coal mine project and purchased Lexus 570 vehicle by higher price than market price.
