Mongolia and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in environmental protection and sustainable development.
The MoU was signed by IUCN Director-General Dr. Gretel Aguilar and Mongolia’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change B.Batbaatar on the sidelines of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP17).
Under the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in capacity building, science-based policy development, sustainable use of natural resources, biodiversity conservation, rangeland restoration, and sustainable land management in preparation for COP17.
