Minister of Health J.Chinburen stated that the healthcare sector is currently facing financial challenges. Therefore, the Ministry of Health aims to strengthen financial discipline and ensure that the sector completes 2025 without accumulating new debt.
According to the Minister, if MNT 181 billion are allocated for salary increases, it would be possible to raise the salaries of all healthcare workers by 15%. The government has decided to submit this proposal to Parliament for approval.
He added that if financial discipline is maintained and last year’s debts are not carried over into next year, the sector could have a reserve of MNT 316 billion in addition to the MNT 181 billion. This would create the opportunity to increase salaries by as much as 30-40%.
Minister J.Chinburen also noted that the healthcare sector operates under a different performance-based financing system compared to education. If we achieve high-quality performance, we can secure sufficient funding and remain debt-free.
