(Ulaanbaatar) Jan 27, MPP Group at State Great Khural was reported on the Tavantolgoi Investment Project progress yesterday by the Minister of State M.Enkhsaikhan.
MPP Group leader S.Byambatsogt commented that previous Governments have tried to do the negotiations on Tavantolgoi for several years but never succeeded. During the joint Government in 2008-2012 Human Development Fund distributed MNT 1.5 million for every citizen and some citizens became shareholders of 1072 shares. But currently there is no value attached to those shares.
Therefore current Government should be focusing on those shares first and then talk about supporting national companies and entities. Moreover, working group needs to be established on improving the benefits of Tavantolgoi deposits for the Mongolia. The working group is to be led by MP Ya.Sodbaatar and is to focus on the adding value to 1072 shares.
The working group is to send official letter to PM on this matter under Parliamentary supervision requesting the open and transparent process. As Government is rushing with Tavantolgoi, MPP group is to pay attention on this matter.
