The World Open Equipped Powerlifting Championships took place in Romania on November 10–16, marking a historic achievement for Mongolia: two athletes earned combined-total medals for the first time in the nation’s powerlifting history.
Five Mongolian athletes competed under the leadership of State Honored Coach D.Battulga. In the men’s −120 kg category, T.Saifolla won gold in the squat with 440 kg and bronze in the bench press with 360 kg, securing a combined-total bronze with 1,097.5 kg.
In the women’s 84 kg division, S.Munkhzul claimed silver in the squat (252.5 kg) and silver in the bench press (232.5 kg), finishing with a combined total of 620 kg to win silver.
In the men’s 59 kg category, E.Nanzaddorj earned bronze in the squat (245 kg) and bronze in the bench press (170 kg), according to the State Committee for Physical Education and Sports.
