The husband and two daughters of Terril Atienza, a Filipino citizen who died while working in Mongolia, arrived in Ulaanbaatar on December 15, 2025 to pursue a re-examination of the 2011 case. At the family’s request, the law firm Paint Partners has agreed to provide legal assistance, requested by journalist S.Budragchaa.
Following a press conference at which the family thanked Mongolians who made the donation, S.Budragchaa handed over a public donation of USD 17,200 collected after the documentary Enslaver.
S.Budragchaa said “Your mother died many years ago when she came to work in Mongolia to pay for her children's education. However, please do not assume that Erdenebat’s family represents the Mongolian people. Mongolians are kind-hearted, fair-skinned, and enlightened people who do not distinguish between rich and poor”.
Volunteers greeted the family at the airport and provided winter clothing and other assistance to help them adjust to Mongolia’s cold season.
