One-third of Mongolia’s one million households live in apartments with full utility services

On June 25, 2026, the plenary session of the Parliament began discussing the draft Housing Law and related legislation submitted by the Government on June 11, 2026.

During the discussion, it was noted that Mongolia has approximately one million households, of which about one-third live in apartments with full utility services, while the remaining households reside in ger districts or housing without full utility services.

During the session, Member of Parliament B.Jargalan requested a five-day recess on behalf of the Democratic Party caucus in Parliament, stating that additional time was needed to consolidate the group's position on the draft law and accompanying bills.

Deputy Speaker J.Bat-Erdene reviewed the request and approved a three-day recess instead of the five days requested. Following the decision, the Parliament proceeded to discuss the next item on its agenda.

The Government also submitted the draft Law on the Specialized Housing Finance Bank and related legislation on June 11, 2026. Consideration of these bills has likewise been postponed for three days in accordance with the recess requested by the Democratic Party caucus.
