Since 1992, over 12,000 exploration licenses have been issued, 2,508 of which are special licenses of minerals. As of today, 2767 special licenses are valid. Of these, 1036 are exploration licenses and 1731 are exploitation licenses.
There are 2,427 organizations and individuals owning the special licenses; 1,695 are owned by Mongolians, 387 are Chinese final owners, and 325 are Chinese individuals and organizations.
