Mongolian winter is not as harsh and empty as it’s told to be. Winter in Mongolia is wonderful with glittering snow and some good chills, and one can enjoy several exciting festivals and events throughout the winter in Mongolia. We will be sharing some of the winter festivals with you here, and here is the first one!

Ice Festival & International Skating Event
A unique experience which will take you into a magical winter journey in the land of nomads. Imagine the sensation to be surrounded by a snow covered steppe. Warm up around the fire with nomads as they invite you in their “Ger”. But the Winter Festival is also a rare Skating Event. Participate to it or just watch it. It will be up to you, like for the many activities we prepared for you, including dog/horse sledding, horse riding, and visit to a reindeer family or attending to Shaman performances.

This exciting winter festival takes place at the Khatgal village in Huvsgul province (right by the Lake Huvsgul) on 02-03 March 2015.
